I'm in love with my ice-cream machine

Written by

I have always wanted an ice cream maker but I thought they were far too expensive for me at about £250 plus, but I had a look at Lakeland, the 'home of creative kitchenware' where I saw a Cuisinart one for £69.99 and decided to buy it. You just have to freeze the bowl overnight but that didn't seem too difficult to me. Thirty minutes later you have a litre of the most fab ice cream. They say 'it's noisy' - but I say 'don't stand in the kitchen then...' I have made two lots - mulberry, and rum and raisin, and I am going to have to put it away now because if I don't I'm going to need to buy their Fat Trapper as well.

It's Masterchef and it's Rhubarb Time

Written by

Eggs poached in cling film, food all over the floor, a manic sound track, lots of crying and mackerel with rhubarb on Masterchef. But all is calm at suffolkfoodie, with Inspector x's delicious rice pudding with rhubarb on our recipe pages. Yorkshire's forced rhubarb grows in candlelight and now has Protected Designation of Origin status from the European Commission.

Party Food

Here is the dip and the vanilla cream terrine made from the yoghurt, which is now coming to an end. It really was the thickest, tastiest and most versatile - so I am converted. See Madame Maincourse's comment to find out exactly what she did. Recipes later.

Roast leg of lamb with onion sauce, loads of vegetables and a proper home-made cheesecake.
